Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral from my family doctor or pediatrician to access your services?
No referral is required. Services are available through self-referral. With your consent, I am also happy to collaborate with other professionals involved in your care.
Is everything I share in therapy confidential?
Yes. What you share in sessions is confidential, except for a few circumstances where I am legally or ethically required to share information (such as risk of harm to self or others or concerns about child protection). I will review confidentiality in more detail during our first session.
What types of issues do you work with?
I support individuals, couples, and families with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, stress, life transitions, and more.
What is the recommended length of time to attend therapy?
The number of sessions varies depending on your needs and goals. Some clients benefit from short-term support, while others prefer longer-term therapy. We will regularly review your progress together.
What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity to get to know each other, discuss your goals for therapy, and begin developing a plan tailored to your needs.
How do I book an initial appointment?
You can book a free, 15-minute consult with me through this website or by emailing soulstreamtherapy@gmail.com. Subsequent sessions can be arranged through the online scheduling link provided on this website, by emailing soulstreamtherapy@gmail.com, or at the end of each therapy session. I’ll be happy to help you find a time that works for you.
Do you provide online and in-person services?
Yes. I offer both in-person (face-to-face) counselling and secure online therapy sessions.
Do you offer evening and/or weekend appointments?
Yes. Appointments are available at a variety of times, including some evenings and weekends.
What are the fees for your services, what methods of payment do you accept, and when is payment due?
Therapy services are $210 per 60-minute session. Payment is required prior to the start of each appointment. A receipt will be provided following your session, which you may submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. I recommend checking with your insurance company in advance to confirm your coverage. I currently accept e-transfers and cash.
Are your services covered by Alberta Health Care?
Services are not covered by Alberta Health Care.
Do you provide direct billing to private health insurance companies?
Not at this time.
What is your policy for cancellations or missed appointments?
I kindly request 48 hours’ notice for rescheduling, which allows me to offer the time to another client. To avoid being charged fifty percent of the full session fee, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel.
